Ben Callegari completed his undergraduate and post-graduate training at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He has also undertaken training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
Ben received valuable training at the Westmead Hospital Anxiety Treatment and Research Unit and the Adolescent Medicine Unit at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney. Ben has experience in public and private settings, working with clients presenting with complex psychological conditions. Ben has also spent time working in specialist outpatient settings providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to clients with co-occurring conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Use. He also has a keen interest working with members of the LGBTI community and was an active member of the Sydney LGBTIQ community before moving to Melbourne in 2009.
Ben has well established skills working with children, adolescents and adults using a range of therapeutic approaches. He actively engages in regular peer consultation and participates in ongoing professional development to keep abreast of the latest therapeutic techniques.
Ben is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is an endorsed provider of Clinical Psychology services with Medicare. He is also a founding member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
Ben is in practice at the Northside Clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
